Alba – Reserved for UK Foster

Shortly after Alba arrived at the pound in December the pound flooded due to heavy rain, so Alba went into foster.

Her foster family tells us: Alba is doing well. She made friends with my children and our dog and cats.

She is really good dog. Was a bit unsettled the first days. But little by little she had learned where her place is to sleep and what she is not allowed on sofa even if she likes it a lot. She is super friendly! Love dogs, cats, kids, people everyone! But she is a very shy dog as well, easily scared of things or big dogs. She is easy to walk but sometimes pulls (in our family she is walked by adult and 12 years old girl without problems).

She felt anxious and was barking couple of times. But it stopped on the third day of her stay with us. Now she is much calmer. We believe for her is important to know her routines and have her own space. She doesn’t like to stay alone at home. When the family is in living room she want to stay in living room as well.

She LOVES food. You can see she was starving in past as she would eat SUPER fast any food.

We have thought her go to place and to sit, and is in process of teaching to walk without pulling (she is much better now). We believe she need to have family who likes to stay with her and have another friendly dog. She is smart and a fast learner. She is good in the car and she is good when bath as well. Calm and patient.

The most difficult point for us: she is not trained to do her stuff outside. We try our best but even with 6 times a day walk she would have accidents in the house.

Alba is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK £520, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £520 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
