A Survivor Seeking Love…
Barbara’s story is a heartbreaking one. She arrived at the pound as nothing but skin and bones, having suffered from severe starvation. Yet despite her tragic past, Barbara’s gentle spirit remains unbroken.
This sweet girl is a star on walks—she never pulls on the leash and stays calm when passing other dogs. She loves taking breaks for cuddles, soaking up every bit of affection she can get. Barbara has come a long way and now thrives in the company of both male and female dogs, sharing her space beautifully and showing just how sweet and adaptable she is.
Barbara has likely never known true love or care. She would do well as an only dog or in a home with another friendly companion where she can finally receive the attention and devotion she’s always deserved.
Could you be the one to give this resilient girl her happy ending? Adopt Barbara and help write her next chapter—one filled with love, security, and joy.
OCTOBER 2024: Barbara in Foster Care – due to the pound flooded!
Barbara has experienced a taste of home life thanks to her wonderful foster family, and she made the most of every moment. During her foster stay, she pulled a bit on walks at first but quickly settled and became the perfect passenger in the car. She’s semi-house trained and still learning to communicate when she needs to go outside.
Barbara was a bit jumpy around other dogs at first, but her fosters worked on teaching her to stay calm. She was timid yet gentle and fine with other dogs.
After the love and security of foster care, Barbara is now back at the pound, but her progress has been incredible. She now shares her cage with both males and females, proving how good she is. Her adaptable and affectionate nature makes her a truly special dog, ready to shower her future family with love.
Could you be her forever family? Barbara is ready to begin her next chapter with you!
Barbara is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
