Bosko – Already in the UK

Sadly handsome Mastin Bosko is coming back to us due to a change in his adopters circumstances.

Bosko’s Adopter says: Meet Bosko, a truly majestic dog with a heart of gold. While he may be a bit shy around new people, he warms up beautifully, especially with women and later with men. However, it’s important to note that Bosko is apprehensive around children, so we recommend a child-free environment for his forever home. Once he feels comfortable, Bosko is the sweetest companion. He loves to snuggle up by your feet and welcomes petting and belly rubs throughout the day. In the evenings, after a leisurely walk, Bosko enjoys some quiet time outdoors, keeping an eye out for any garden visitors like foxes.

Bosko is a well-behaved boy who shows no prey drive outside his territory, making walks a breeze as he stays close and walks nicely on a leash. In busier areas, he may need a little reassurance if something startles him. When left alone, Bosko handles it well and doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety. He’s an absolute sweetheart who, with a bit of space, quickly warms up and enjoys affection and treats.

At doggie daycare and kennels, Bosko shines and consistently receives glowing reviews from his caregivers. He’s a well-behaved guest, whether it’s a short weekend stay or a longer holiday. Bosko is also impressively house-trained, responding to commands like recall, sit, shake, and going to his bed. He’s never had accidents indoors, doesn’t engage in unwanted chewing, and patiently waits for treats.

A confident but patient owner would be the perfect match for Bosko. He thrives on positive reinforcement and will happily respond to your cues, although he may occasionally display a bit of stubbornness.

We are actively seeking a permanent home for Bosko or a loving foster with the potential to adopt. Our goal is to ensure Bosko feels safe and cherished. For those considering adopting Bosko, his current owner is open to a gradual introduction process, involving a couple of visits. Once he trusts someone, he forms strong bonds quickly. This lovely boy would thrive in a home with a spacious garden where he can freely roam and explore. He has a playful side and would absolutely love having his own little corner to dig in and investigate. If you happen to have a farm or a larger property, Bosko would be an exceptional addition to the pack, especially when it comes to night watch duties. His keen senses and gentle nature make him an ideal companion for keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings. So, if you have other furry friends in your household, whether he’s keeping watch with fellow canines on a farm or simply sharing a cozy corner with a feline friend, Bosko’s adaptable and friendly personality shines through.

Bosko is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK £570, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
