Calimero – A Young Dog Full of Joy..

Calimero was only about one year old when he arrived at the Pound in October. He is a truly stunning young dog with a bright and lively nature, but life in a tiny cage for more than 23 hours a day is very hard on him. Being confined on his own for so long is not what a young, energetic dog like Calimero should endure.

During his daily break in the patio he comes to life. He runs happily around the space, trying to engage the other dogs in play, and his joy is unmistakable. He is very sweet with people, affectionate, and always ready for cuddles. Everything about him shows how sociable and loving he is.

“Calimero attended an event in November 2025, and he did amazingly well. He enjoyed every moment and took everything in with joy and confidence.
After the event, he went to the beach, and later he had a fun play session on the green grass, proudly carrying a stick he found. During the walk through the town, he continued showing off his stick as if it were a trophy — such a good and charming boy.
Calimero is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving home where he can keep enjoying days like this.”

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
