Callie – A Very Clever Girl –  Already in the UK

This is Callie. She is already in the UK and looking for a loving home. Her adopters have sadly decided that it would be best for her if she was rehomed and have said the following: “We feel Callie would be better suited with a young couple who can give her more time and activities that would suit her more. We walk her 3 times a day, but she needs more run time and a bigger space than we can provide. We have started training her; she knows stay (to a certain amount). She sits and lays down on command, but her recall needs more work as she is easily distracted when off the lead. Callie is a lovely dog with lots of love to any human, but can be domineering to other dogs, as she is reactive on the lead and has had issues off the lead with other smaller dogs. Again, a dominance issue and possibly nerves. Ideally, she would need a couple or a family with older children, she has not shown any aggressiveness to our children (aged 10 and 13). She does pull still on the lead and we feel this is due to nervousness. She is very determined and focused when she wants something, such as cats and squirrels. She has triggers when a motorbike rides past, where she needs to go after the bike and nothing will deter her focus until it is out of sight. Callie is a very clever dog and would provide the right household a very rewarding pet; it breaks our heart to admit that we aren’t the right family for her. We can take gratitude and pleasure that she has been in our lives and that she will get the home which is right for her. Again, we are doing this with a heavy heart”.
