CORA –
Poor Cora is returning to us through no fault of her own, but due to a significant change of circumstances for her familiy.
Very sadly, Cora is on palliative care, so long term foster care is needed. She is fully supported by the charity and veterinary costs and incidental expenses are covered. She is used to living in a home and we really don’t want her to have to go to kennels.
This what her family says about her:
CORA, previously Columbia. Given DOB 29.9.17.
Came in with heart damage, was on other meds but now only on Milbemax once a month. Vet will have all medical records and scans.
Temperament – very quiet. Keeps to herself, comes for cuddles on her own terms. Always had wobbly back legs, gives the impression of weakness, sometimes slow to stand up but gets there without help. Doesn’t need regimented walks, in fact she has collapsed in the past when taken too far. Happy to mooch around the house and garden and snooze on the outside dog beds. Also gives a warning bark to sheep, lambs and postmen. Eats well, sleeps well. Can’t comment on cats etc- as she hadn’t encountered any.
This beautiful, sweet lady really deserves her second chance. Can you find a place in your heart for Cora? Please get in touch at adoptions@spanishstraydogs.org.uk
Colombia is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK £570, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you. For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
