Sunni

Gorgeous mastin, Sunni, is coming back to us through no fault of her own. She would maybe benefit from a home in a more rural location, adoption or foster.
This is what her Adopters say about her: ‘Sunni is a beautiful 60kg cross mastin. She has a sensitive tummy, so not too much human food and no chicken for this lady. She eats purina turkey for large breeds dried food and once a day mixed in with raw egg or turkey cat food. Treats are mainly turkey, sweet potato or duck. Her fave thing ever are frankfurters ( use these when meeting people to distract her)and she enjoys a knuckle bone from the butcher now and again.
Muzzle training was going well until we had to force it for a vet visit and we are back to beyond square 1 but still trying as she needs it for vets. She is fully house trained and walks gently on the lead either to the back or side of you. She doesn’t mind walking in the rain as long as it’s not too heavy, but doesn’t do the toilet with her coat on ( doesn’t like the straps on her back legs).
Sunni shows no interest in cats. One was 3 feet from her just lying down and she totally ignored it and walked past.
She loves small dogs, and would benefit from a doggy friend, she often tries to play with them, although most are a little wary, due to her size.  She is scared/, reactive to most medium and large dogs, but generally stays quiet now when passing them after training. Sunni adores soft squeaky toys and will play tug of war with you until they tear and she can rip the insides out. She has lots of limbless toys. She does not like squeaky toys without the fur.
She loves tummy rubs and will whine at you for them with her legs in the air, she’s learned to give a paw for a treat so now gives it to beg. Sunni loves just chilling on the sofa. She can be left by herself with no mess on return for hours . She can climb the stairs but prefers to sleep downstairs.
Unlike most mastins, she doesn’t really enjoy being outside, walking or in the garden before it starts to get dark, although doesn’t mind her early morning walk but will bark a lot if she smells foxes.
Sunni will bark and is super wary of strangers, and she isn’t a fan of the postman or delivery drivers. She has never had contact with children, and as she can be unpredictable would be better not to live with them. She can be a bit jumpy on walks and is scared of missing anything, always on alert’.

Sunni is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK £570, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
