KIARA – LOVES A CUDDLE

This beautiful girl has been dumped at the pound with no reason given. We imagine the cute, tiny puppy grew up and as everything seems to be disposable in the world we live in, she’s just been handed in with no further thought. After living in a home she doesn’t understand now why she is spending 24 hours a day in a small cage. She is an affectionate girl that loves people and gets on well with other dogs. She is an active dog so needs a family that will have time to take her for nice long walks and stimulate her mentally. A really sweet girl.

December 2022:The beautiful Kiara went into a fantastic foster home because of the risk of the pound flooding. The foster tells us:

Kiara is a wonderful young girl. She is FULL of life and energy. Sometimes too much. She can easily get over excited and can’t help herself in jumping up and nipping everything and everyone around her. This is not unusual for a young dog – we just witnessed it and wanna mention it. She does not bark. She has not shown any destructive behavior.

Kiara doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety- she jumps up on the sofa outside and chills until we are back.

She often prefers outside to inside ( as she is not allowed on the inside sofa ). She also likes to be where we are: I put a blanket in the kitchen when I am cooking or when we are watching tv in the living room and she happily relaxes next to us.

We think she would make a wonderful dog for an experienced, active couple or a family with older kids. A big garden is key as she needs to be able to release her endless energy and sometimes starts running around like crazy on her own.

We are walking 3 times a day with her (on the lead though) and she still runs around… We only met few dogs so far and she played with one. She loves water and is not too fussed about eating so she is not stealing food.

Kiara is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK £570, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.  If the cost of transport exceeds £320 you may be asked to give an amount towards this.
