Lina
Lina’s journey has been full of challenges, but her loving heart remains strong. She first arrived at the pound in July 2024 after being found on the streets in poor condition. A kind family took her in temporarily, but after an accident with a horse, Lina required surgery on her leg. Unable to provide the special care she needed, the family arranged for Lina to recover at a pet boarding facility before she came to the pound.
While she may be confused by the changes, Lina’s spirit remained bright and loving. She was still the cheerful, affectionate girl she has always been.
In October, when the pound flooded, Lina was lucky enough to go into a loving foster family. Her foster family told us that Lina thrived outside the pound’s walls. She was in foster care with Stich, a male PPP breed, and a female Chihuahua, and they said Lina was fantastic with children and other dogs. She was playful and sweet, constantly seeking cuddles and affection, showing how much love she has to give. She even learned to be more patient at mealtimes, now sitting calmly and watching. Her time in foster care allowed her to flourish and show her true, loving nature.
In November 2024, Lina was adopted, to what we thought would be her final home. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond her control, Lina has recently been returned to the pound.
Now (January 2025), Lina is back at the pound, still longing for that special family. She is ready for her forever home, where she can feel safe and loved. She’s been through a lot in her short life and truly deserves a family who will cherish her forever.
Could you be the one to give Lina the loving and final home she so deserves?
Lina is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
