Lucky

Lucky – A Gentle Shepherd Mix Still Waiting for His Turn… Once with his sister, now facing life in a cage alone

Lucky arrived at the pound alongside his sister Irina — two beautiful, gentle siblings, around eight months old at the time, handed in together by their former owner in April 2025. From the beginning, Lucky showed himself to be a sweet, calm, and affectionate young dog, with a truly kind nature.

Fortunately, Irina has now been adopted, and while we’re overjoyed for her, Lucky remains behind. He’s adjusting to life without his sister and has found comfort in new friendships — he now shares his patio playtime with two big male dogs, enjoying their company during his short daily break from the cage.

But the reality is still heartbreaking: more than 23½ hours every day are spent alone, behind bars in a small cage.
Lucky is young, gentle, and full of quiet hope. He deserves so much more than life behind concrete walls.

Could you be the one to give Lucky the home and love he’s been waiting for?

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
