MALU – FUN-LOVING GIRL – AVALABLE FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER

Malu is a very playful, cuddly girl who loves human attention and cuddles. She gets on well with other dogs but is quite boisterous, so better homed with dogs a similar size to her. Malu would be suitable for an experienced, active family who will take her on lots of walks and adventures in the countryside or by the beach.

She is available for adoption or foster – please email for more details.

Update January 2023: Malu is a beautiful 2 ½ year old girl that, sadly, has been at the pound for a year and half, so 2 volunteers decided to take her out for a special day in the local town in January 2023.
Malu enjoyed every single moment and so did the volunteers! She was a star 🤩 She immediately jumped in the car and behaved perfectly during the journey, sitting quietly, and looking out the back window, except for when she wanted to give kisses to the volunteer in the back seat.
Whilst in town she was curious to experience it all, but at the same time was still very attentive to the volunteer walking her. She met a lot of different dogs; big and small, male and female, and she readily greeted them all.
Two young girls stopped to greet Malu, which pleased her to no end, and there were children on small scooters, traffic, people… and she was great with it all, without getting too excited or nervous.
Malu was happy to take a break and sit on a bench watching the people and dogs passing by, she just sat there calmly taking it all in – which must have been such a nice change for her since she has only experienced the same view from her cage for the last year and a half. In the park, she loved sniffing the grass and the bushes and she even learned how to find treats in a tree. She was just so easy!
The hardest part of the day was taking her back to the pound. When she had to go back to her patio, she understandably didn’t want to go back in and had to be pushed through the door. It was heart-breaking to see her just sit dejectedly by the door, wondering what she had done wrong after being the best girl. She had finally experienced a little of what a real life could be like, only to go back to her reality – 23 hours a day in a cage, which is a complete waste of her precious life😢

Malu is available for adoption in Germany, UK, Finland and Spain.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment.
Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK £520, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £520 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.  If the cost of transport exceeds £320 you may be asked to give an amount towards this.
