Mozzarella

Mozzarella is a stunning Mastín with a gentle soul and a quiet resilience. At about 9 ½ years old, this sweet elderly lady has likely faced her share of hardships. While we don’t know much about her past, her eyes tell a story of a rough life. Despite it all, Mozzarella is beginning to settle in at the pound. She enjoys the simple joys of human company, and though her life has been far from easy, she greets each day with quiet grace.

Mozzarella shares the patio during the day with a big, friendly male Mastín, and they coexist peacefully. But her moments of freedom are painfully short—she spends more than 23 hours a day confined to a small cage. The pound is currently overwhelmed with many Mastíns, which makes us worry that Mozzarella might be overlooked, waiting far too long for her chance at happiness.

Mozzarella recently went on a trip away from the pound, where she had the chance to interact with new dogs and a child. She showed remarkable patience and calmness, especially during treat time, which she absolutely adores. Despite the presence of other dogs eagerly awaiting their share, Mozzarella remained composed and did not get defensive, demonstrating her gentle and easygoing nature.

This lovely senior girl deserves so much more than this life. She needs a calm, quiet home where she can finally know the comfort and love she has missed for so long. If you’re searching for a loyal, gentle companion, please consider giving Mozzarella the forever home she so desperately needs.

Mozzarella is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
