Orlando

Orlando – A Sweet and Stunning Soul Ready for His Second Chance..
Orlando arrived at the pound in May 2025, around two years old, in a truly terrible state. It was clear he had been through a lot, but thanks to ongoing treatment and kind care, he’s now doing much better and continues to improve every day.

He’s a stunning young dog — gentle, calm, and incredibly affectionate. Despite his difficult past, Orlando has kept his sweet nature and a big heart full of love to give. He’s very social and has already been integrated with other dogs without any issues.

On walks, Orlando shows what a wonderful companion he truly is. He walks calmly on the lead, isn’t bothered by passing cars, cats, or even horses, and he loves stopping for cuddles along the way. Rolling happily in the grass is one of his favorite moments — such a simple joy for a dog who has known so little kindness.

Update – November 2025
“In November 2025, Orlando was selected to participate in an event, and he did amazingly well. He greeted everyone with a happily wagging tail and enjoyed all the attention and cuddles he received. During the waiting periods, he remained calm and patient, showing his gentle nature.
Afterward, he had a short walk through the town, where he continued to shine. He also loved feeling the green grass under his paws — a simple moment he truly enjoyed.”

Orlando dreams of having a family to call his own — people to love, walk beside, and simply spend time with. He deserves a second chance at a forever home where he will be cherished and appreciated for the sweet, affectionate dog he is

Update – January 2026:
“Due to heavy rainfall and the risk of flooding at the pound, Orlando was placed in a temporary foster home for a few days. This stay gave us valuable insight into his behaviour in a home environment.

According to the foster, Orlando is very well trained and seems to understand German cues — he comes immediately when called and is perfectly house-trained. He is super playful and enjoys interacting with people and other dogs of all sizes.
He loves children — the foster’s four-year-old daughter played with him — but he can get overexcited and should not be left unattended with smaller children.
Orlando needs someone to guide him in regulating his excitement and to continue teaching him to walk politely on a lead.
Orlando is absolutely compatible with other dogs, regardless of their size, and thrives in an active, engaging environment.”

Orlando dreams of having a family to call his own — people to love, walk beside, and simply spend time with. He deserves a second chance at a forever home where he will be cherished and appreciated for the sweet, affectionate dog he is.

🐾 Could you be the one to give Orlando the happy life he’s been waiting for?

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
