Petitsuisse

Petitsuisse, is a beautiful lady. She’s great with people and absolutely adores cuddles. Petitsuisse has a passion for working and would make an amazing training buddy! However, she currently lives in a small cage with a male dog, spending more than 23 hours a day confined. Although she enjoys walks, at the moment she has sore paws, due to the damp floor in her cage, which prevent her from venturing out much. She finds solace in laying in the grass, watching the world pass by. Unfortunately, due to the lack of volunteers, she doesn’t get to go out much.

November 2024: Update on Petitsuisse
Petitsuisse and Domino recently spent a five days in foster together, when the pound was flooded. They have now returned to the pound, but her foster family shared some beautiful insights about her.

From the very beginning, Petitsuisse was incredibly affectionate. She loves cuddles and has so much love to give. True to her Belgian Shepherd nature, she is highly intelligent and seems to anticipate your next move, always thinking ahead.
Petitsuisse adores water—she happily let her foster family shower her, and she couldn’t resist diving headfirst (and eventually her whole body!) into the water tubs in the garden. It was such a joy to watch her having so much fun!
Unlike many Belgian Shepherds, Petitsuisse is relatively calm and does not have a fragile nervous system. Her foster family described her as very pleasant to be around.
It was heartbreaking for us to bring her back to the pound. We hope Petitsuisse finds a loving home soon. Stay strong, sweet Petitsuisse. We’re cheering for you!

In January 2025, Petitsuisse was lucky enough to go into foster care again, and this time she’s thriving in a home with multiple other dogs. Her foster family has shared some wonderful insights about her progress. She has been good with everyone she’s met and absolutely loves riding in the van, excited for every outing. When stopping for coffee, she calmly relaxes by her foster’s side.
She’s had no accidents in the house. She’s a little gem at the groomers, cooperative and calm, and true to her love of water, she enjoys the pool and loves splashing around.
Petitsuisse is proving herself to be adaptable, social, and well-behaved. Her foster describes her as a joy to be around, with a balanced personality that’s both affectionate and calm.

Now, having had the chance to live in foster care, she has shown just how incredible she is—a dog ready to thrive in a loving forever home. Petitsuisse has so much potential to grow in an environment where she can explore, learn, and enjoy life to the fullest.

Petitsuisse has come so far, but she still needs her happy ending. Could you be the one to give this sweet girl the forever home she’s been waiting for?

Petitsuisse is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
