Sandra
Sandra is a young and loving Mastín looking for her forever home. This sweet girl has a passion for cuddles and isn’t shy about showing her affection – she’s a champion hugger!
Currently, Sandra shares a small cage with her handsome Mastín friend, Pancho. Despite their tight quarters, these two gentle giants make the best of it, playing and enjoying each other’s company. It’s heartwarming to see how they’ve bonded, but they deserve so much more space to stretch their legs and play.
Sandra’s loving nature and easygoing personality make her a perfect companion for a family willing to open their hearts and homes. She’s sure to fill your days with joy, laughter, and lots of furry hugs.
Sadly, the pound is overflowing with Mastíns like Sandra. This means these wonderful dogs often wait months, or even longer, for their chance at a loving home. By adopting Sandra, you’ll not only gain a loyal and affectionate friend but also make room for another dog in need.
Give Sandra the chance to shower you with love in a home of her own. Adopt this cuddly sweetheart today and experience the immense joy a Mastín can bring to your life!
Update – March 2025
Due to the risk of flooding at the pound, Sandra and Pancho were temporarily moved to a safe location, where they are staying in a horsebox within a stable. They have settled in well and are making the most of their new surroundings.
Here’s what their carer has to say about Sandra:
“She should be renamed ‘Cuddle Bear’! She’s such a joyful dog—I love seeing her first thing in the morning, paws on the stable door, smiling and wagging her tail at me. She comes over for cuddles and affection, then has a quick chase and play with Pancho… before coming back for more love.
She enjoys quietly exploring the garden, taking in all the scents, and she’s very respectful of the fence boundaries. Her coat is stunningly beautiful, and she keeps herself remarkably clean—she’s just a gorgeous dog with so much love to give.
Both Sandra and Pancho have great appetites and eat very politely. Sandra loves her food and never leaves a crumb behind!
I initially walked them on the lead together, but I prefer letting them play freely in the secure space—it’s a joy to watch them so happy and carefree.”
Sandra is thriving in this temporary setup, enjoying both companionship and affection. She would make a wonderful addition to a loving home.
Sandra is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
