Vaquita
Sweet Vaquita arrived at the pound very pregnant and was fortunate to be placed in a loving foster home shortly after her arrival. In this safe and calm environment, she gave birth to 9 beautiful puppies and has shown herself to be an incredibly devoted and gentle mother.
Vaquita is a calm, affectionate, and easy-going girl. She enjoys her walks, loves cuddles, and thrives in a peaceful atmosphere. Despite her young age, she has a very balanced and gentle nature that makes her a joy to be around.
Recently, Vaquita was diagnosed with mastitis – a painful infection – and she can no longer nurse her puppies. She is now in need of a quiet foster or adoptive home without puppies, where she can rest and recover fully.
UPDATE: Vaquita has now moved into a new foster home without her puppies, and she is thriving. She enjoys the company of the other dogs in the household and has settled in very well. Vaquita loves going for walks on the beach and at home she spends most of her time in the garden. She is clean in the house and has not had any accidents indoors.
Her foster family describes her as a very sweet and affectionate dog who loves cuddles. Vaquita is truly ready to find her forever home.
Vaquita is a truly lovely dog who deserves a future filled with love and care. She will be a loyal and affectionate companion to anyone willing to give her the second chance she so deeply deserves.
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
