Vienna – In Long-Term Foster in the

Sadly Vienna is coming back to our Charity. Her Adopters are genuinely heartbroken but family caring commitments has meant that they have had to make this sad decision.

We are urgently seeking a foster or adopter, preferably in Scotland as that’s where Vienna is but she can travel anywhere.

This is what her Adopters say about her: Vienna is the perfect dog, she has a shy nature at first but once spending a few hours around her she will be your best friend, she has been through a lot from transitioning from Spain to Scotland and meeting a new family and getting to know us and the animals we have here too. I’m not sure if it’s something dog’s can just understand sometimes but she hasn’t fought once with any of the cats, she hasn’t fought once with our other dog Zack and aside from the first day she arrived.. she hasn’t pee’d or poo’d inside the house once either, she has a good grasp of when she needs the toilet and will always tell you in her own way (although I tend to regularly let them out for toilet breaks every few hours anyways). Vienna has her own nature and habits and funny unique things she does on her own, for example she is slightly scared of steps/stairs? Although if you put a lead on her collar… she’s fine? Which never fails to make me smile. She isn’t greedy, is very patient and I always include her in training which she excels in to the point where she tells off the older dog if Zack is misbehaving or anything although they now both sit patiently at the kitchen door waiting for me to give them a treat. I let one dog come into the kitchen and take a treat gently while the other waits and fluctuate which comes in first daily so’s that neither think I’m choosing one over the other. She an affinity towards female humans or other dogs and always follows my mum despite me doing everything for her but I don’t mind.

For more information about Vienna please email us at: Adoptions@spanishstraydogs.org.uk Vienna is already in the U.K. so her adoption fee is £320. A home check will also apply. There is no fee to foster and SSDUK will provide rescue back up.

Vienna is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK £570, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
