Buddy – In Foster in the UK

Buddy, was Aiko, was adopted from a pound in the North of Spain after spending two years there.

Very sadly, he has displayed some fear based issues within his new environment and his adopters have made the difficult decision to hand him back to us.

Here is a recent update from Buddy:

My name is Buddy, I am very handsome, though I say it myself! A Labrador x, around 5 years old.
I am living in kennels in the U.K. and I don’t really know why -I have been here for a long, long time, seems like forever! I used to have a home, with sofas and soft beds. I travelled there all the way from Spain and I was very happy, but after 6 months, they decided they didn’t want me any more, I was very sad and I now find it difficult to trust people, as I am afraid they will let me down again, so I am very wary of new humans and do need time just to get to know them as I am very scared,. I do bark at them at first- maybe I shouldn’t, but it isn’t nice when you are scared and don’t know what is going to happen to you! I have been at the kennels so long now, that is my safe place!
I would really love a nice quiet home, possibly with an older human(s), definitely no children at all, they really worry and upset me! And I would prefer to be an only dog, I have been in kennels so long I would love to have all the attention for myself!
I may not like my human when we first meet, but if we can just take things slowly so that I get to know you, I can learn to trust again.
I am told I am a bit overweight (cheek of it) but this may be because of something called a thyroid, I am told this is being investigated and I may have to take tablets (hope they taste nice)!
I had a visit from a nice lady who called herself a behaviourist I think, and she said she would be happy to work with me and any new humans to help me settle in to a new home, so I really hope someone will give me a chance!
If you feel you could offer a home to gorgeous Buddy, either as a foster or adopter then full behavioural support is offered and, if you live close enough, our behaviourist would be happy to meet you at the kennels in Lincolnshire for a meet and greet with Buddy.
Are you his special human? He is waiting for you!

Give him a home and he will be your best friend

Amigo arrived at the pound in March 2018 and was approximately 9 years old on arrival. He is a large male Labrador who was handed into the pound by his owner.

Height: approximately 65cm  Weight: approximately 35kg

Another loyal companion dumped at the pound during his twilight years. Who knows why. Maybe he got in the way, maybe they bought a younger version, maybe they got bored of him. What we do know is that poor Amigo does not deserve to be in the pound and is finding the whole situation very stressful and traumatic. He is a large, strong dog who will need to be placed with someone with experience. But he is a good boy and should be easy to train and really all he wants is to play, go for walks, eat, sleep and cuddle. Not too much to ask considering what he will give back in return.

Here he is in his own video in May 2019
