Robyn – Already in the UK

Beautiful Robyn is looking for a very special long-term foster home where she can finally settle, flourish and enjoy the busy life she deserves.

Robyn is partially sighted, so she is classed as a special needs dog, but don’t let that put you off. Her sight doesn’t stop her!

She is an incredibly intelligent quick learner who adapts brilliantly to her surroundings.

Robyn does struggle with separation anxiety, so needs someone who is at home for most of the day.  We believe this can improve with time, patience and the right support, but for now she needs someone who can be around and, importantly, keep her busy and occupied.

This girl is a typical terrier through and through!  She needs a very active home where she can enjoy plenty of excercise, mental stimulation and opportunities to follow her natural instincts to run, explore and chase.

Her recall is a work in progress.  She has good recall when there aren’t any distractions, but if she spots something she wants to chase, her terrier instincts take over and she completely forgets everything!  This is something her foster home will need to continue working on.

Robyn loves other dogs and we feel a home with another friendly, confident dog, or even two, would be ideal for her. Having canine companions around will give her confidence and provide her with company.  She can be a little dominant with other dogs, though – she certainly knows her own mind!

Once she’s had a day of adventures, Robyn is happy to curl up beside you for cuddles and a well-earned rest.

Robyn CANNOT live with cats.

We are looking for someone who: Is home for most of the day, has experience with dogs and understands their needs, enjoys an active lifestyle and lots of exercise, will provide plenty of mental stimulation and enrichment, ideally has another friendly, confident dog, has the patience to help Robyn build her confidence and work through her separation anxiety and is prepared to continue working on her recall.

Robyn has so much to offer. Her partial sight doesn’t define her — she is bright, energetic, affectionate and ready to get on with life. She just needs someone who understands her and can give her the right environment to thrive. Could you be the special person Robyn is waiting for? Please get in touch with Spanish Stray Dogs UK if you could offer Robyn the long-term foster home she needs – adoptions@spanishstraydogs.org.uk

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
