LIBRE – SUCH A SAD GIRL

Poor Libre. She arrived at the pound with all sorts of skin problems – sore ears, wounds on her legs, sore eyes, sores on her bottom where she had obviously been sitting on a hard concrete floor for a long time – probably chained up.But still, even though she has that sad look in her eyes, she still craves human attention and loves having her tummy rubbed. she does get on with other dogs but she keeps herself to herself and is quite enjoying some time laying on a blanket on a plastic bed. She has tested positive for Leishmania and is responding well to treatment. we think she would quite like to be a couch potato but would also like a nice garden that she can potter around and observe her neighbours. Mastins are better in rural areas where they have the option of being outside when they want and also where there aren’t too many steps.

Give him a home and he will be your best friend

Amigo arrived at the pound in March 2018 and was approximately 9 years old on arrival. He is a large male Labrador who was handed into the pound by his owner.

Height: approximately 65cm  Weight: approximately 35kg

Another loyal companion dumped at the pound during his twilight years. Who knows why. Maybe he got in the way, maybe they bought a younger version, maybe they got bored of him. What we do know is that poor Amigo does not deserve to be in the pound and is finding the whole situation very stressful and traumatic. He is a large, strong dog who will need to be placed with someone with experience. But he is a good boy and should be easy to train and really all he wants is to play, go for walks, eat, sleep and cuddle. Not too much to ask considering what he will give back in return.
