Ying – a timid girl

Ying and Yang arrived together in December,  they were very lucky to go into an amazing foster home together just after they arrived as the pound flooded. The foster mum tells us (3/1-23):
“I’ve been fostering Ying and Yang since the 8th December, they are delightful!!! I would love to keep them, but I already have 5 dogs. Since they’ve been at my farm, both dogs have had very close access to my ducks and chickens and not bothered them at all. They are untested with cats. YING loves giving and receiving cuddles and kisses. A very gentle, respectful, girl. She has the most amazing eyes and expressions that you just fall in love  with.
She is growing in confidence every day and is coming on in leaps and bounds. She takes things slowly, loves listening to her carer and following Yang’s lead. She is very social with my dogs. Ying is currently scared of noisy, new, busy situations, especially all things motorized, but we are calmly and gently working on getting her to used to them, she is responding well. The dogs are living in my hay stable at the moment. They have been calm and quiet, no barking, chewing or destroying things.
Both walk well on the lead and have been well behaved walking out in the countryside and meeting people and other dogs. They are now starting to mix and play with my own dogs who are quite elderly. All went very well, both dogs were very social and keen to play then calmly hang out together.
They would do well in a calm environment.
Both are responding well to lots of praise and step by step introducing new things with lots of time to digest and feel safe. The dogs are clearly bonded together and enjoy each other’s company.”

Ying and Yang came back to the pound in February where they share a small cage. On their daily break from the cage, they go out on the patio with other dogs without any problem. Ying is  getting more and more confident; she is now approaching the regular volunteers and enjoy being cuddled. She is improving ❤️
Ying is good on the lead, she does not pull and greets other dogs well, she is a bit wary of noises and people she does not know. She needs a calm home in a rural area, preferably whit another friendly dog, that can give her the support she needs.

Ying are available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females. Adoption costs to the UK £570 (for both dogs), this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
