Dylan

Dylan came up for adoption again in November 2023 … He is not at the pound, but still in his home, who adopted him as a puppy. We hope he does not have to come back to the pound.

His family tells us this;

“Dylan is a cross-bred Belgian Malinois and he has lived with his current, and only long-term owner for almost two and a half years. He is fully vaccinated and has never had any health-related issues. Dylan is an energetic dog, motivated by play, more than food. If he has access to land, he will run around and explore for hours. He’s not really interested in other humans whilst on walks, but he loves to play with other dogs. Getting a chase, or chasing another dog, is one of his favourite games. He has never been aggressive with humans or other dogs. He doesn’t slobber, or smell, and his medium-long fur coat doesn’t malt as much as you’d expect. Dylan’s breed is very intelligent, so he will need stimulation and exercise, but he can also spend hours sunbathing in the garden or sleeping quietly in his bed after a walk. Dylan knows lots of different commands/tasks in English.

He hasn’t lived with cats or young children before and will need to be trained if this becomes part of his new environment. He doesn’t like to be left alone for long, and benefitted from his long-term guardian working from home, so again, he would need to be trained for longer periods of separation. Dylan is a great match for someone who wants to look after a playful, loving dog, who would like an exploration companion, or company for an existing dog of a similar nature.”

Dylan is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
