Bosco – A Sweet, Sociable Boy Ready for a Real Home
Bosco arrived at the pound in April 2025 at around 2 years old, together with Tristan. They still share a cage and get along very well, and that familiar bond seems to give him comfort in an otherwise very stressful environment.
Bosco is a friendly, affectionate dog with a lovely nature. He enjoys going out for walks and is very good on the lead. He takes his surroundings in calmly and is not bothered by cars, other dogs, or cats.
During one walk, he was briefly unsure when a donkey passed by, but he settled quickly and carried on without issue.
He has also been out on a walk with a child and did very well.
Bosco is very people-oriented and genuinely enjoys interaction. He is highly responsive when treats are involved and clearly enjoys learning and engaging with the person he is with. He likes to pause during walks to explore the ground with his nose, especially when there might be something rewarding to find, and he really comes alive during these small shared moments of connection.
At the pound, Bosco currently shares his space with Tristan, another large male, and a female, and they are all coexisting without issues. During their short daily break on the patio, he enjoys running around and interacting with the other dogs — those moments outside the cage clearly mean a lot to him.
In May 2026, Bosco and Tristan attended one of our big adoption events at the new land where we hope to build our future shelter. The two boys shared a pen for the entire afternoon, together with a dedicated volunteer who spent time sitting with them, giving them affection and calm company throughout the day.
Bosco did amazingly. He welcomed visitors into the pen with a soft, affectionate nature and clearly loved every second of the attention and company. Both boys were calm, sweet, and incredibly social throughout the event. By the end of the day, they were completely exhausted, lying flat on the floor after hours of enjoying all the interaction and affection.
Sadly, despite how wonderfully they did, nobody fell in love with Bosco or Tristan that day, and they had to return once again to their small, damp cage at the pound.
Bosco is a sweet young dog in a very difficult place. He deserves a home where he can finally feel safe, relax, and just be a dog.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
