Mafalda is a beautiful Mastin with a heart as big as her gentle frame. Despite the constraints of pound life, her spirit remains unbroken, and her capacity for love is truly remarkable.

Life at the pound is far from ideal for this affectionate girl. Mafalda spends over 23 hours a day in a cage, her world limited to a small space shared with other dogs. But even in these challenging circumstances, her loving nature shines through.

The highlight of Mafalda’s day is the brief time she spends on the patio with other dogs. Here, her playful side emerges as she runs, plays, and socializes, reminding us of the joyful, carefree dog she could be in a loving home. When volunteers visit, Mafalda’s eyes light up, and she eagerly seeks out cuddles and affection, soaking up every moment of human interaction.

Mafalda gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her a great candidate for a home with canine siblings. Her gentle demeanor and playful spirit make her a joy to be around, whether she’s romping with her furry friends or snuggling up for some quiet time.

Mafalda is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
