Troya
Troya, is a beautiful girl with a heart full of love. Troya is great with people and absolutely adores cuddles and walks. Despite her gentle nature, Troya’s current living conditions are far from ideal. She spends more than 23 hours a day in a small cage, which leaves her feeling very stressed.
Troya gets some time out on the patio with other dogs, but she can be a bit bossy—likely due to the stress of her confinement. Because of this, Troya would probably do best in a home as a single dog or with a friendly male dog who can match her energy and provide companionship.
This sweet girl deserves a loving home where she can feel safe, relaxed, and cherished. If you have a heart full of love and the space to give Troya the freedom she needs, please consider making her a part of your family. Let’s find Troya the forever home she deserves.
November 2024: Troya had a brief taste of home life during a 3-week foster stay, necessitated by flooding at the pound. While this sweet girl has now returned to pound life, we learned so much about her true personality in a home environment:
Troya proved to be a wonderfully adaptable house dog who loves nothing more than lounging around and engaging in playful moments with her family. She’s particularly wonderful with children! She’s also an excellent car passenger, staying calm and well-behaved during rides.
While mostly good with house training, she occasionally has accidents when left alone. During walks, Troya can get a bit nervous, so she does best in quieter areas with fewer animals around. This was something we were working on, and with patience and positive reinforcement, she’ll continue to improve.
Despite making wonderful progress in her foster home, Troya is now back in a cage at the pound, waiting for her forever family to find her. Could you be the one to give this loving girl the permanent home she deserves?
Troya is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
