Orca

Orca is an energetic border collie cross who loves playing with her ball. She gets along fantastically with other dogs. While initially a bit nervous around people, Orca is warming up to human companionship.

She needs an active family who can provide plenty of exercise and patience as she continues to build trust. If you’re looking for a playful, canine-friendly dog and are willing to help her grow more comfortable with people, Orca could be a great fit.

OCTOBER 2024:

Orca recently spent a few days in foster care with her friend Asterix due to flooding at the pound. Now she’s back in a small cage, patiently waiting for her chance at a loving home. Her foster family shared some beautiful insights into her personality:

🐾 A Loving and Intelligent Companion: Orca is truly one-of-a-kind. She’s highly intelligent, active, and incredibly sensitive. With her natural confidence, she’s a fantastic companion who loves to both give and receive affection. If you’re seeking a loyal, active, and engaging friend, Orca could be your perfect match.

🎓 Willing and Ready to Learn: Orca has excellent listening skills and is responsive, always ready to engage and learn with you. She walks well on the lead and has a natural interest in understanding what you want from her. Orca’s bright and curious nature would make her a joy to work with in any setting.

🐴 Curious Around Other Animals: In foster care, Orca gradually warmed up to farm animals like horses, donkeys, and goats, showing calm curiosity rather than fear. This gentle openness speaks to her adaptable and brave spirit.

Orca is a beautiful, clever soul with so much love to give. She’s the kind of dog that could truly thrive with someone who will cherish her unique, affectionate personality.

Could you be the one to give Orca the home she’s been waiting for?

Orca is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
