Bizcocha – A Truly Sweet Soul in Need of a Real Home
Bizcocha is a beautiful, one-year-old girl with a gentle and loving nature. She’s absolutely adorable – calm, affectionate, and kind to everyone she meets. She gets along wonderfully with all the dogs she has encountered at the pound and has quickly won everyone’s heart with her sweet personality.
Like so many others, Bizcocha spends more than 23 hours a day confined in a small cage, sharing the limited space with another dog and only getting a short break in the patio. No dog should live like this. These conditions are not fair to any animal — least of all one so full of love and potential.
Bizcocha, like all pound dogs, deserves a safe, loving home where she can thrive and be treated with the care and dignity every dog should receive. Please consider opening your heart and home to her. Adopting her means giving her a chance at a life worth living.
Bizcocha – Update (July 2025):
Bizcocha continues to show what a wonderful dog she is. During her time in foster care, she proved relaxed and independent — perfectly fine when left alone, with no signs of crying or destructive behaviour. She was fully house-trained, very clean, and travelled quietly and happily in the car. On walks, she showed little interest in ducks or cats and approached the world with calm curiosity and confidence. Bizcocha also showed herself to be a quick learner — she mastered sitting and waiting for her food and even brought the ball back during play. Her recall is still developing, likely because she’s still getting used to her name.
Most importantly, Bizcocha is affectionate, intelligent, gentle, and joyful — a dog who easily wins hearts and is ready to bring happiness to a home of her own.
To prevent her from having to return to the pound, Bizcocha is now staying at a dog hotel as a paid resident. The team looking after her tells us she gets along well with the various dogs she meets there and enjoys playing with them. She seems to have a good sense of dog social skills and is a pleasure to take on walks. Smart, adaptable, and loving — she’ll make a wonderful companion. We’re happy to arrange meet-and-greet walks for anyone interested in getting to know her.
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
