Thor
Thor arrived at the pound in May 2026 and is estimated to be around eight and a half years old.
This gentle boy was handed into the pound by his owner alongside a female dog he had lived with since puppyhood. After spending his entire life in a home, surrounded by familiar people, routines, and the comfort of a stable environment, Thor now finds himself in a completely different and confusing world.
It is hard to imagine how disorienting and upsetting this sudden change must be for him. One day he had the life he always knew, and the next he was in a busy pound, living in a small cage, surrounded by barking dogs, unfamiliar sounds, and strangers.
Unlike many dogs who struggle with such a drastic transition, Thor has shown himself to be a truly lovely boy. He is very sweet and friendly with people and has also proven to be great with other dogs. He has taken everything in his stride as best he can.
We hope that Thor will continue to settle and find comfort in his surroundings while he waits for his chance to leave. But more than anything, we hope he will not have to stay here long.
After more than eight years in a home, this is no place for a dog to spend his senior years. Thor deserves comfort, kindness, and a soft bed to rest on. Most of all, he deserves a family who will give him the love, stability, and security he has lost.
We hope someone will see this wonderful boy and give him the second chance he so deeply deserves.
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
