 Alaska

Alaska arrived at the pound in October 2025 and was about 1.5 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous crossbreed who was found, presumably abandoned on the streets, and taken to the pound.

Alaska is a beautiful young girl who initially arrived alongside Nancy, and the girls shared a cage together, later also spending time with the stunning Pascual, showing just how well she gets along with other dogs.

Alaska is very sweet, affectionate, and loves a good cuddle. She enjoys spending time with people and has a gentle, loving nature that makes her a joy to be around.

In November, Alaska joined a small public event together with her friend Nancy, and she handled it beautifully. She was lively and curious while remaining gentle throughout, showing a friendly interest in everything happening around her. She was excellent with children and very respectful when taking treats, always gentle and polite. Alaska is also highly trainable and eager to engage with people. When meeting a larger dog at the event, she was confident, curious, and playful in a positive way. This outing was a great reminder of Alaska’s sweet nature and her potential to thrive in a loving home.

Since then, there have been some changes in Alaska’s cage companions. Nancy has been adopted, and Alaska now shares her cage with her new penmate, the very handsome Torcal. The two of them get along incredibly well and live together in complete harmony. They are so relaxed in each other’s company that they can even lie side by side with their chew bones without any issues at all. 💛

Alaska also enjoys going out on walks when she gets the chance. She walks well on the lead, although she can pull a little at times, which is completely understandable as she spends more than 23 hours a day in a cage and naturally wants to take everything in when she finally gets out. Sadly, walks are not as frequent as she needs due to a lack of volunteers, but she truly makes the most of every opportunity.

In February 2026, Alaska and her penmate Torcal were evacuated from the pound due to heavy rain and the risk of flooding. They were moved to one of our colleague shelters nearby, where Alaska has remained ever since.

Alaska is doing very well there and continues to show what a happy and loving girl she is. She currently shares her cage with another dog and gets along well, always greeting people with her constantly wagging tail. 💛

But despite her positive spirit, Alaska deserves so much more than life in a cage. She is still a young dog with energy and joy for life, and she would love a home where she can enjoy daily walks, mental stimulation, affection, and the chance to truly be part of a family.

Alaska is still available for adoption and is waiting for someone to give her the loving forever home she deserves.
