ECHO – ALREADY IN THE UK

Echo is coming back to us due to illness in her family and they are extremely sad to have to let her go. Can you offer this beautiful girl a home?

This is what her Adopters say about her:

Meet Echo: Loving, loyal and full of personality Echo is a beautiful, affectionate dog who loves nothing more than belly rubs, sofa naps, and being close to her owners. Whilst she is a big dog (50kg) she is a big softie at heart and happiest when she is the centre of attention. In the home: Calm and relaxed when it is just her and her family. She currently lives with two adults and two young children but generally ignores the children (and their toys), but would be much better suited to a home with just adults or much older children. She prefers to have all the attention to herself!

Echo loves snuffle mats, Licky mats, and Kongs, as well as playing tuggy, but generally is not interested in toys or games such as fetch. She loves food and is currently on home-cooked meals (from Different Dog) and natural treats (chicken feet, turkey necks, pigs ears etc.).

Training & Behaviour: Echo has achieved the Kennel Club Bronze Level for the Good Citizen Dog Award so is well trained. She is very clever, and understands commands such as sit, lie down, on the mat, away, let’s go, walk on, spin, go round, go under your legs, and others. Some of these are important for walks and calming reactive behaviours. She walks well on the lead but needs strong and confident handling as she can be very reactive to other dogs, cats, squirrels etc. Echo is dog reactive and has previously attacked two dogs whilst on walks (managing to slip the lead). She must be the only pet in the home. She cannot be off-lead in public and would benefit from access to private, secure fields for a good run and exercise. She is currently walked twice daily for an hour or so. Echo is territorial in the garden, so secure and strong fencing is important. Ideally a large garden is required where she can relax without too many distractions. She has some resource guarding issues with food and treats, particularly long- lasting chews. She has become better with this, but moving her might set her back a bit.

Echo adores her owners; she loves to be on the sofa cuddled up with lots of strokes and cuddles, the way she looks at her owners is pure love! She is a big softie when you’re home together and despite some of the above items, is an incredibly loving and gentle dog at home.

Ideal Home for Echo: Pet-free household; Secure, spacious garden with strong fencing; Experienced owners confident with handling large, reactive dogs; Adult families; Someone who is committed to giving Echo the love and structure she needs. Echo is a loving, loyal dog who just wants a family/owner to call her own. She will thrive with the right people who can give her patience, structure and plenty of affection. Overall, we are devasted to let her go but due to recent illness and seizure we cannot give her the exercise and attention she needs.

Do you have an Echo sized hole in your life, she would be your best friend 🧡

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
