EDGAR – PLAY WITH ME!

Edgar arrived at the pound almost two years ago and is still waiting for his forever family. This sweet and playful dog has spent half his life behind bars, longing for the love and companionship he deserves.

Edgar’s favorite activity is playing with other dogs. He would thrive in a home with another playful dog companion or with someone who can engage in play sessions and take him on long, stimulating walks. He loves cuddles and knows how to sit and give his paw, showing off his gentle and affectionate nature.

In December 2022, Edgar and his best friend Ramses went into foster care due to flooding at the pound. Their foster parents described Edgar as a big dog who greets everyone enthusiastically but settles down soon after. Although he’s afraid of beaches and the sea, he enjoys walks in the countryside. Unfortunately, in March 2023, Edgar and Ramses had to return to the pound. Ramses has since been adopted, leaving Edgar once again waiting for his chance.

Now, Edgar shares a cage with several other dogs and enjoys his daily breaks in the patio, where he plays with both male and female dogs. Despite his circumstances, Edgar remains playful and sociable, but he longs for a loving home where he can truly thrive.

The poor boy has spent too much of his life at the pound; it’s not fair. Edgar needs a loving family committed to providing daily exercise. A fenced garden for playtime would be a big bonus for him. He deserves a nice, loving family that will give him the life he dreams of.

Edgar is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
