AQUA – A YOUNG GIRL WHO DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE ❤️
Aqua arrived at the pound in August 2026, when she was approximately one year old. She is a gorgeous crossbreed who was found on the streets and brought to the pound, presumably after being abandoned.
When Aqua arrived, she was in a very poor condition. She was covered in ticks and fleas and was extremely skinny. Despite whatever she may have been through before arriving at the pound, she is settling in well and showing us what a lovely young dog she is.
Aqua enjoys spending time outside her cage with the other dogs. She is comfortable around both male and female dogs and seems to enjoy their company. She is still a young girl with a playful nature and so much life ahead of her.
Aqua also loves going out for walks. These outings are unfortunately rare due to the lack of volunteers available to take the dogs out, but she makes the most of every opportunity. She sometimes pulls a little on the lead, although she is gradually improving. She seems quite relaxed about passing cars, other dogs and even cats. She is also very happy to take a little break along the way for some treats and cuddles. It’s lovely to see her enjoying these simple experiences outside the pound.
In September 2026, Aqua was lucky enough to attend a large event held on the land where we hope to build our future shelter. She had a dedicated volunteer by her side throughout the day, giving her the chance to enjoy the experience and meet potential adopters.
There was plenty going on, with lots of people, children, dogs, music and activity all around her. Aqua thoroughly enjoyed her day out! She happily greeted people who came to meet her and loved all the cuddles and attention she received. She seemed very comfortable in the company of people and clearly appreciated the opportunity to spend so much time with them.
Sadly, nobody chose Aqua that day, and she had to return to the pound, where she continues to wait for her chance.
Like all the dogs at the pound, Aqua spends more than 23.5 hours every day in a cage, with very limited opportunities for walks, human interaction and experiences beyond the pound. For a young dog like her, there is so much more to life than this. She deserves a responsible home where she can enjoy regular walks, companionship, affection and the chance to keep learning and discovering the world around her.
Aqua has already had a difficult start in life. Now she needs someone who will give her the loving future she deserves, with the care, time and attention every dog should have.
Aqua is waiting for her second chance. Could you be the person who finally gives her a place to call home?
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
