Drew – Looking for a patient home to help him blossom

Drew arrived at the pound in July 2026 and was around 2 years old on arrival.

This handsome crossbreed was found on the streets, presumably after being abandoned, and was brought to the pound.

Although Drew is still scared of people, he has settled in well with the other dogs at the pound. During the dogs’ daily break from their tiny cages, he enjoys spending time on the patio, where he likes to run around, explore his surroundings and satisfy his curiosity.

Drew will need a patient family who understands that trust takes time to build. We believe he would benefit greatly from living with another friendly, confident dog who could help him feel more comfortable in his new environment and show him the routines of family life.

This young boy deserves a loving and responsible home where he will be given all the time, patience and understanding he needs to grow in confidence and finally enjoy the life every dog deserves.

Update September 2026
Drew was lucky to attend a big event at the land where we hope to build our future shelter. He went along with his three friends Pimienta, Cheeto and Mia and had his own dedicated volunteer looking after him during the day.

Drew was more cautious than the others and tended to keep his distance from people. However, he was happy to go for a walk, although he was still unsure and did not feel comfortable being touched. He needs a little more time and patience to build trust and feel comfortable with people.

Sadly, nobody fell in love with Drew that day, so he had to return to the pound after the event. He is now waiting there for the person who will give him the time, patience and understanding he needs, and the forever home he deserves.

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
