Holi

Holi arrived at the pound in March 2026, at around nine years old.

He came to us in a very poor condition — a difficult sight, especially for a dog of his age. We don’t know anything about his past, but it is clear that he has not received the care he deserved.

Despite this, Holi is a sweet, sociable boy who truly enjoys being around both people and other dogs. He is a beautiful boy who deserves kindness, comfort, and security at this stage of his life.

In April, Holi was chosen to take part in a visit to a retirement home, and he did absolutely wonderfully. He showed his gentle, stable nature and clearly enjoyed the calm interactions and attention. He also took part in a small training session during the visit and impressed everyone with how well he responded and how willing he was to engage.

At nine years old, Holi should not be in a pound environment. He deserves a calm and loving home where he can finally rest, feel safe, and be cared for as he always should have been.

He loves going out for walks, walks beautifully on the lead, and is not bothered by cars, people, or other dogs passing by. He takes everything in his stride with a calm and steady confidence.

We will do everything we can to find Holi the gentle, caring forever home he so deeply deserves — and we truly hope that home comes very soon.

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
