SUR – A PUPPY WHO HAS ALREADY KNOWN ABANDONMENT ❤️
Sur arrived at the pound in August 2026, at approximately four months old. He is a lovely crossbreed who was found on the streets and brought to the pound. He will be a medium-to-large-sized dog when fully grown.
Sur is a lovely, sweet young boy who absolutely loves people and enjoys receiving cuddles and affection. He is always happy to spend time with people and is such a lovely puppy to be around.
Every day, Sur gets a precious break from the 23½ hours he spends in his tiny cage when he is allowed out onto the patio with lots of his furry friends. He clearly enjoys these moments, being able to stretch his legs, spend time with the other dogs and simply have a little bit of freedom.
But it is incredibly sad to see such a beautiful young boy spending almost his entire day locked inside a small cage. Sur is still only a puppy. He should be growing up in a home, discovering the world, playing, learning and receiving all the love and attention a young dog deserves.
Sur urgently needs a foster home where he can experience everyday life outside the pound. Even better, we would love to see him find a responsible forever family who will give him the love, care, security and commitment he deserves.
Sur has already experienced abandonment at such a young age. We hope that his next home will truly be his forever home — a place where he will be loved and cared for for the rest of his life. ❤️
Update September 2026
Sur was lucky to attend a big event at the land where we hope to build our future shelter. He went along with his friends Kino, Cubarsi and Olmo and had his own dedicated volunteer looking after him during the day.
Despite the busy surroundings, with lots of people, dogs, music and activity, Sur was very friendly and sociable. He greeted everyone with a wagging tail and happily ran around whenever the people around him moved. He was great with the children who visited the pen and tried to play with two puppies, although they were a little shy.
After all the excitement, Sur was also able to settle down and lie calmly to rest. He travelled very well in the car too, remaining calm and sitting quietly throughout the journey without crying.
Sadly, nobody fell in love with Sur that day, so he had to return to the pound after the event. He is now waiting there for the person who will give him the forever home he deserves.
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
