Looking for his perfect home
Otis is a small 5 year old podenco weighing just 8 kilos.
Sadly, his adopter’s circumstances have changed and they have made the difficult decision to rehome him and want to find the perfect home for him.
His adopter says “Otis is an amazing little chap and, on his own, he is a dream dog. He has been trained to sit, give his paw and has great recall. He loves his ball, has no separation anxiety at all and can be left on his own no problem for a few hours. He is not aggressive towards other dogs, and loves trips out in the car. His dew claws have been removed as they were a problem with catching and he is up to date with injections and rabies too.
His only problem is he reacts in a pack situation, so with my other three dogs he barks on the lead on a walk, not aggressively, he’s just very excited as if going on a hunt, so has been walked on his own.
Otis loves to be cuddled and loved, but is submissive so doesn’t always get chance if other dogs are there. He has no human food aggression although will growl if the other dogs go past if he has a chew, but fine with toys with the other dogs”.
Given the above, we believe Otis needs to be rehomed either as an only dog or with a quiet submissive dog.
He really is a lovely dog. If you would like to express an interest in him then please email our Adoptions Team – Adoptions@spanishstraydogs.org.uk
Otis is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment.
