Polo – A Playful Young Boy Full of Life ❤️

Polo is an adorable young dog who was around one year old when he arrived at the Pound in September. He has integrated beautifully with other dogs, both males and females, and quickly made friends with everyone.

He loves to run around the patio, trying to get the others to play with him – and if no one joins in, he’s perfectly happy entertaining himself with a tennis ball. Polo is very sweet with people and enjoys every bit of attention he can get.

Like most dogs, Polo loves going out for walks. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get out as often as he should due to the high number of dogs and the limited number of volunteers. When he does go out, his happiness is impossible to miss – he is visibly thrilled and full of joy. On walks, he does not seem bothered by passing dogs, people, or cars. When he shows interest in other dogs, it is always in a positive, playful, and friendly way.

Polo is very happy to stop during a walk for a treat and a cuddle, and he clearly enjoys human interaction and affection. He is a sweet, affectionate young boy who does not deserve to spend more than 23.5 hours a day in a small cage.

This cheerful, sociable, and playful dog would make a wonderful friend and companion. Polo truly deserves a loving home where he can enjoy regular walks, playtime, and the chance to be part of a family.

Update January 2026:
Polo recently spent a few days in foster care with Funana due to heavy rain at the pound, and he’s now back waiting for his forever home. 🌿
The foster shared that Polo is a big puppy who loves toys and food. He slept well on his bed in the garage, and even brought a towel from the chair where the foster was sitting to make it part of his bed — such a sweet, clever detail!
Polo is playful, affectionate, and ready to find a loving home where he can grow and thrive.

Update – January 2026:
Polo has recently moved into a new loving foster home with several other dogs. He is settling in really well, and we hope to share more updates soon as we learn more about him in a home environment.

Polo is playful, affectionate, and ready to find a loving home where he can grow and thrive. Could you be the one to give him his forever family? 💛

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £570. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £570 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
