Mowgly

Mowgly arrived at the pound in February 2026 and was about 4 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous crossbreed.

Mowgly is a sweet young boy who arrived with four other dogs—three males and a female. Some of them came in very thin and neglected, and he was no exception. Despite this rough start, Mowgly has shown himself to be a loving and gentle boy with people.

Mowgly is a very sociable dog. He gets along well with all the dogs he has met at the pound and is a truly good boy. He is great with everyone he meets, loves cuddles and hugs, and is a real sweetheart. He has also been around cats off lead without any problems.

In April, Mowgly attended two different outings outside of the pound. In one, he went on a little trip into town and visited a retirement home, where he also took part in some light agility-style activities. He really enjoyed the experience and showed how confident, happy, and engaged he can be in new environments.

He also took part in a training event for some of our pound dogs, where he once again did absolutely excellent. He was very focused, well-behaved, and clearly loved all the attention, cuddles, and interaction with the people around him. He soaked it all in and showed what a sweet and social boy he is.

After this event, Mowgly was very lucky to go into a foster home. So far, we have received very positive updates — he is doing well and has settled nicely with the other dog in the home. However, Mowgly is still in need of a forever home. His foster placement can only last around a month, so we are really hoping to find him a permanent family before he has to return to the pound.

Mowgly is already showing what an amazing dog he is, and he truly deserves a kind and loving home where he can finally relax and belong.

This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.

For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
