Amon
Amon arrived at the pound in March 2026 and is estimated to be around four years old. Like many dogs, he was overwhelmed at first when he arrived — suddenly finding himself in a small cage, surrounded by unfamiliar people and constant noise.
Since then, Amon has been gradually adapting to the routine at the pound and is coping much better. He may seem a little shy at first, but deep down he is a sweet and very gentle dog with a calm nature.
He is currently sharing a cage with Bimba, a beautiful large female who is also new, and they get along very well.
On the days he has the chance to go out for walks outside the pound, Amon is a wonderful companion. He walks very well on the lead, without pulling, and does not seem to be bothered by cars, people, or other dogs passing by. Even when larger dogs bark at him from behind fences, Amon simply continues walking calmly. Cats may catch his attention a little, but in a quiet and non-reactive way.
He also enjoys stopping for cuddles and a few treats during his walks, showing his soft and affectionate side.
Amon is a big, handsome and very gentle dog who deserves the chance to leave pound life behind and finally enjoy the stability, love, and comfort of a real home.
Update June 2026:
One day in June, Scobby, Donovan, Amón, Dalí and Avellana were chosen for a very special outing.
Thanks to the project “Visitas que dejan huella”, sponsored by APBA, they visited a residence in Los Barrios.
It was a beautiful morning filled with calm moments, smiles and connection. The dogs brought comfort and joy to the residents, many of whom spend long hours alone. A simple presence, a cuddle, or a gentle interaction made a real difference.
And the most special part: the dogs enjoyed it just as much. They received affection, attention, and the feeling of being truly valued.
We are so proud of them — all of them did amazingly well — and we hope that Avellana, Donovan, Scobby, Amón and Dalí will very soon find the loving homes they deserve.
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
