Tambor

He is good a very good boy, he loves people and is good with the other dogs at the pound.

December 2022: Tambor went into foster due to the pound flooded. His foster family tells us:

“Tambor is a very active playful dog. I fostered for one week.He is house trained. I have not left him alone. He loves to go for walks and walks well on a leash, however he often pulls. He is good with other dogs and loves to play with everyone. However, some dog owners have avoided us as he often seems very impetuous in first impressions. When he sees cats and birds, he sets to chasing or sometimes he just watches with interest. I think if you get him used to a cat with patience, living together would work out.

Children fascinate him and he quickly tries to jump up on them. Because of his size this creates fear, again I am sure with training he will learn how to handle children. He is friendly towards people, same here that he likes to jump on them to say hello. Many passersby did not want to believe that he is already 2 years old. He seems like a very playful puppy.

At home he tended to chew on everything unless he was sleeping or getting my attention. Sofa and bed he loves. Again, training will do wonders as he is an intelligent dog.

In the car he should have a separated area, then driving is no problem for him, otherwise he tries to get through to the driver.

He is a great dog who would certainly benefit from an enclosed yard where he can play.”

Tambor is available for adoption in the UK.  Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.

Adoption costs to the UK £520, this includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier(using the TRACES system) by road direct to your door. We sort all the arrangements for you.  For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go on foster, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £520 to cover the above expenses.

In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £320 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
