Violeta
Violeta arrived at the pound in June 2026 and is around one year old.We rarely have detailed history for the dogs that come into our care, but Violeta is one of the lucky exceptions where we know part of her story. Her mother arrived at the pound in March 2025 heavily pregnant and was very fortunate to be placed in a loving foster home, where she safely gave birth to nine beautiful puppies. Violeta, along with her siblings, grew up in a safe and caring environment and was adopted as a young puppy.
Sadly, one year later, Violeta has been abandoned by her owner at the pound, as she was not able to provide her with the structure, guidance, and stimulation she needed.
Like all young dogs, Violeta needs structure, daily exercise, regular walks, and mental stimulation in order to thrive. It appears that as she grew, she did not receive the full level of guidance, enrichment, and socialisation that a young, active dog requires to develop her confidence and balance.
Understandably, her arrival has been overwhelming for her. She now finds herself in a small cage in a busy and noisy environment, surrounded by barking dogs and unfamiliar people. This is a huge change for a dog who has only ever known life in a home.
What is clear is that Violeta is a young, active dog who will thrive in the right home. She will need an experienced and committed family who can provide her with the exercise, structure, training, and mental stimulation she needs to become the best version of herself.
With time, patience, and the right guidance, we believe she has every chance to blossom again. Violeta deserves a fresh start and a home that truly understands her needs.
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
