Lola
Lola arrived at the pound in April 2026 together with Golfo. At 15 years old on arrival, this sweet senior girl finds herself facing a situation that no dog should ever have to experience, especially after a lifetime of being part of a home.
Lola had spent many years living with her family, but sadly, after the death of the person who cared for her, her situation changed completely. Without the care and protection she had known for so long, she ended up living in poor conditions and was eventually brought to the pound together with Golfo.
After so many years of having a home, Lola now finds herself in a place that is completely different from what she deserves. A senior dog who should be enjoying peace, comfort, and affection is instead spending more than 23 hours a day in a small cage, without the warmth, security, and comforts she needs during this stage of her life.
Despite everything she has been through, Lola remains a wonderful little dog. She is a sweet and affectionate old lady who deserves to spend her golden years surrounded by love and care. She enjoys the company of people and, like any senior dog, she simply needs a calm place where she can feel safe, loved, and protected.
Lola is also good with other dogs, both males and females, and she shares this difficult transition with Golfo, who arrived with her and has been her companion throughout this enormous change in their lives.
It is heartbreaking to think that after so many years in a home, Lola now has to spend this stage of her life behind bars. She does not ask for much: a soft bed where she can rest, gentle walks, a responsible home, and plenty of love.
We hope that someone will look beyond her age and see the wonderful companion Lola truly is. Senior dogs have enormous hearts and still have so much love to give.
Lola deserves to spend her remaining years knowing what it feels like to be loved, safe, and cared for.
This gorgeous dog is available for adoption in the UK. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Adoption fee includes neutering, passport, microchip, all vaccinations, blood tests to screen for diseases, worm and flea treatment. Adoption cost in Spain (if no transport required) 155€ for males and €165 for females.
Adoption costs to the UK are £595. This includes all DEFRA paperwork and transport by DEFRA registered carrier ( using the TRACES system) direct to your door, except London, within the M25 motorway, Highlands of Scotland beyond Perth, and all off islands (if we cannot deliver direct, a mutually convenient meeting place will be arranged). We sort out all the arrangements and delivery/ meeting times will be advised in advance by the transporter.
For dogs brought to the UK by SSDUK to go initially into foster care, adopters will still be required to pay the full adoption fee of £595 to cover the above expenses.
In some cases, for example a failed adoption of a dog already in the UK, the fee may be reduced to £350 where the initial transport costs from Spain have already been met. This is to cover transport within the UK, kennel fees and any checks required.
